We joined Surekha’s Qut’b Minar walk and are so glad that we did! Surekha was very well-informed about her subject. The walk was thoughtfully organized and she demonstrated an articulate command of her subject. We were impressed that in addition to talking and showing us the monuments, she had collected some well organized visual aids, including clear architectural drawings that explained some of the features we saw on the walk. Surekha is passionate and enthusiastic about sharing her home and its heritage and her enthusiasm comes through to make her walks enjoyable to all!

Surekha Narain’s Gandhi & 1911 Walk was a day of opening doors that we did not know existed and persuading others to open them. Moreover, she selected the doors as she learnt about our interests. The tour started and finished as we requested, following the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi. But as she discovered our interest also in colonial history and architecture, new and unexpected surprises were thrown in. Her family who played a role in Delhi’s history formed part of the story and were among those who opened doors which were never closed to Surekha.
